YouTube-What I've been watching at 2am!!
It was the night after we brought Leo home from hospital that I found myself trying desperately to stay awake as I fed our 3 day old baby boy (the whole matchsticks keeping your eyes open meme comes to mind!!). I was sat in bed, blissfully happy in our baby bubble and riding off pure adrenaline from finally being allowed out of hospital but feeling more exhausted than I thought ever possible. We don't have a TV in our bedroom so I wanted something to keep me awake while the little one and I got our heads around feeding (for me it took time but was totally worth it!) I immediately grabbed my phone and went on YouTube to search for mum and baby channels. In the nine and a half weeks that Leo has been in our world I have watched HOURS of these videos from feeding and night time tips to what products are best for newborns and I have learnt so much!
So here are my 5 favourite channels on YouTube...
1. Samantha Maria-she is a London based fashion and lifestyle blogger who recently had her first daughter and gives a breath of fresh air to all new mums by not pretending to be perfect. She is best known for her videos on fashion and beauty but has developed a more family orientated angle recently, uploading videos on labor, feeding, baby clothes hauls and monthly pregnancy updates. Her and her husband also do the occasional daily vlog and own a clothing company called Novem&Knight.
2. Emily Norris-is a Canadian mum of three boys. Her channel mainly consists of 'Day in the life' videos and children, home and clothing hauls. She comes across as the most down to earth mum and just wants to spread her tips and tricks as her three boys are all under four years (so you get the impression she knows what she's on about). Emily also uploads a lot to the 'ChannelMum' channel on YouTube which has a wide range of bloggers and vloggers that do sponsored videos and promotions.
3.Mrs Meldrum-Rebecca Meldrum is a Scottish mother of two girls who is heavily pregnant with her third and she is probably the YouTuber that I relate most to as we were expecting around the same time! She does daily vlogs on her family channel but uploads her personal videos every tuesday, thursday and sunday and has a huge range of interests, so something to suit everyone.
4.SacconeJoly-these are an Irish family living in London that consists of Anna and Jonathan SacconeJoly and their three adorable children Emelia, Eduardo and Alessia! They daily vlog each and every day and have done so for eight years, which if nothing else is very impressive! Their channel is even broadcast on Irish television although of course I watch it via YouTube. On her own personal channel Anna uploads food, beauty and lifestyle videos and 'how to guides' that I have been loving to watch.
5. Mrs Crystal Allen-she is the only American YouTuber that I've been watching avidly and she is a mum of one Adelyn and pregnant with their second. I was first drawn to this channel as their first daughter was conceived with a fertility drug that I was tested on two years ago. Back then I was interested to see if the drug worked for her (which it did) even though it had very little effect on myself! Now I watch her channel just out of routine but it's always lighthearted, funny and easy to watch!
