Leo's august favourites

Our gorgeous, little man is somehow 3 months old already and that means another month has whizzed by and we are now in September! Good luck to all of those mama's preparing themselves for the school run and homework after having the summer off, I'm very happy that's a long way off for Leo. He has been loving a lot of things in the month of August but I thought I'd keep the same format as last month and name 8 fav's for the 8th month.

Leo's August Favourites

1. BooginHead Paci-grip
It was a few weeks ago when we attended my brother in law's wedding where we came well equipped with a hand full of dummies to keep Leo entertained for the day ahead. I don't know about other babies but Leo either loves or hates his dummy (completely dependent on mood) and by 3pm he had spat five dummies onto the floor. Without a steriliser to hand we muddled through the rest of the day which was very easy as Leo was in such a great mood and surrounded by so many wonderful people to keep him happy! However, we went in search of a solution and came across these BooginHead paci-grips in TKMaxx for £4.99. You simply feed the loop through the dummy and clip the grip to your baby's outfit so no more lost or dirty dummies. I really love this product, the strap also has that crinkly fabric inside so Leo loves to find it with his hands and play.
2. Johnson's baby oil
Last month he was loving the Johnson's top to toe wash (and definitely still is) but in August about once a week I've been using baby oil on him after bath time. Leo has born with a very little bit of cradle cap and it has been getting increasingly drier to touch. I started dabbing a little across his forehead a month ago and it has almost completely gone. Johnson's baby oil leaves his skin feeling silky smooth and I adore the smell. Now he's a little bigger I give him an all body massage with the oil and nothing gets bigger smiles, he absolutely loves it! I bought his 300ml bottle from Boots for £2.99 and you use so little of it that this will keep me going for months to come!

3. Nuby Ice Bite teething ring
Leo is only three months so a little young to be teething but his gums have recently gone rock solid and he's been so dribbly that we knew straight away what was wrong. He has also just found his hands and been using his fingers so this teething ring by Nuby has been amazing when he just won't settle. I simply put the ring in the fridge or freezer for an hour or two and Leo absolutely loves looking at the colours and shapes and giving it a really good chew!

4. Calpol infant paracetemol
I'll admit that I'm that mum that was nervous to give Leo calpol as he is so tiny but this brand is suitable from 6 weeks of age and in August he had his 8 and 12 week vaccinations so it came in handy. I just gave him 2.5ml using the easy to handle syringe (which he spat straight out first time) an hour before each injection and although he had a bit of a temperature with both, he remained his happy, content self. I think the fact that it wasn't milk confused him but now he's had it a couple of times he seems to quite like the taste.

5. Chicco baby carrier
Although Leo still loves getting pushed around in his pram and generally watching the world go by, recently he's been getting restless if he's wide awake and strapped down in his seat. We have all been loving his Chicco baby carrier for those days when it's hard to fit your pram through narrow doorways and when your baby just wants to be held. I love the grey design and the fabric is super soft on little one's skin, it distributes his weight well (Leo is over 15lbs now!) and even I can wear it for a couple hours without any trouble. We bought this one from Babies R Us for £49.99 and they are suitable from birth to 18 months so an incredible investment.

6. Moo, Baa, La La La by Sandra Boynton
Moo, baa, la la la by Sandra Boynton is a beautiful baby book that I've been loving reading to little Leo. It is a very simple story all about the sounds that animals make and I know that he doesn't understand the story yet but he definitely loves the funny noises that his mummy makes when she reads it! I love the illustrations and there are lots more to collect in the future.

7. NEXT Multi-tractor print sleep suits
This 3 pack sleep suit set from NEXT is just perfect. Leo is a farmer's son and his love of all things animal and tractors will be upon him when he is old enough to realise. I love the print on these sleep suits and the fabric is the softest and most hard wearing. The vibrant colours lasts through the wash and Leo is wearing size 3-6 months and loving them both to sleep in and lounge about the house in too.

8. Blossom cot farm spiral from ELC
This soft toy farm spiral that I drape on the bars of Leo's cot is just the cutest. He loves looking at the farmyard animals when he is falling asleep and now he's slowly finding his hands he even tries to grab them when he's stirring in the mornings. It is good to interact with and brightly coloured all to stimulate little one's busy minds. They do so much learning and discovering at this age and I love to fuel Leo's curiosity. It was £15.00 off the Early learning center website and comes in all different designs and colours.
